Scott Gilbert
Scott joined the Inland Revenue in 1985 and after two years of training moved into investigation work. In 1996 he joined Ernst & Young's tax investigation team and left them in 2005 to start Gilbert Tax in association with Kim Rayfield.
Scott is a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation and chaired the Leeds branch between 2002 and 2004.
Scott has extensive experience in tax investigation including:
- Special Civil Investigations COP 9 enquiries covering cases of suspected serious tax frauds
- Special Civil Investigations COP 8 enquiries in cases where large sums were suspected to be outstanding but fraud does not seem to be an issue (often planning arrangements like Trusts and EBT's)
- HMRC prosecutions
- CTSA/ITSA enquiries
- PAYE Compliance
- IR35 Investigations
- Status Dispute Investigations
- Off Shore Bank Account Investigations
